Arrive at 5:30 p.m. and grab a bag of popcorn and a seat to catch the screening at 6 p.m. Your hosts will facilitate additional insights and a group discussion immediately following the documentary.
Parking is free in most lots on the University of Manitoba campus after 4:30 p.m. This does not include 24-hour reserved areas, restricted areas, “N” Lot (evenings, weekends and holidays) and the University Parkade.
Before The Plate follows young farmers and industry experts to show the general population what a modern Canadian farm operation looks like, and answer the most pressing questions consumers have about their food. The film follows food staples of the Canadian diet all the way from the farm to the harvesting and processing operations, and showcases the final product at Canoe, one of Toronto’s most prestigious restaurants.
