We are pleased to offer a panel presentation on the topic “To Pitch, To Print: Today’s PR/Journalism Relationship” with co-speakers Laura Rance and Adam Dooley. Join us as our guest speakers share their experience and advice on the working relationship between PR pros and editors. Whether you are a communicator seeking to pitch your story, or a journalist trying to meet a deadline, you will value the tips shared by these seasoned professionals.
Laura Rance, Editorial Director, Glacier FarmMedia
Laura grew up on a southern Manitoba farm, studied journalism, and has spent the past 36 years writing about food and agricultural issues in daily and weekly newspapers. Today, Laura is editorial director for Glacier FarmMedia, Canada’s largest publisher of agricultural news and information. She has received multiple national and international awards for her work. Her reporting work has taken her to many parts of the world, including a five-week-long journey through Malawi, Zambia and Ethiopia in 2015 on a special assignment with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank writing about how conservation agriculture supports development in Africa.
Adam Dooley, President and Founder, Dooley Communications
Over the past 25 years, Adam has developed and executed communications programs for regional, national and North American organizations. As an expert at integrating public relations with advertising and marketing tactics, Adam’s strategies build strong brands and polished corporate images. He launched Dooley Communications in 2007 after an award-winning career as a reporter, editor and corporate communications executive. Under his leadership, Dooley Communications has grown to become the largest PR firm in Manitoba with clients including Ford of Canada, Princess Auto, Cando Rail Services, the Government of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.
