Bursary Opportunity – IFAJ 2025 Congress

Apply for funding to attend the IFAJ 2025 congress in Nairobi, Kenya!

The 2025 International Federation of Agricultural Journalist’s (IFAJ) annual congress will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from October 15 to 18. Join agricultural journalists and communicators from all over the world to explore food and farming in Kenya, including its tea and flower sectors.

The IFAJ Congress presents a fantastic opportunity to explore agriculture in a totally new setting while making new friends and contacts all over the world. However, flying to Nairobi is not cheap.

The MFWBA would like to financially support one member to travel to the congress with a bursary of up to $3000 CAD.

We recognize that getting your paperwork and immunizations in order will take time, and October will be here sooner than we think, so the deadline for application is July 25. The MFWBA board will review entries and notify the successful applicant by August 1.

The Fine Print: All MFWBA members in good standing may apply. The winner will be chosen by the MFWBA board based on financial need and what the member intends to learn from the experience. The winner of the bursary will have receipted expenses reimbursed by the MFWBA up to a total of $3000. Following the event, the winner will be expected to present to MFWBA members about their experience (e.g. at the 2026 AGM). Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on July 25, 2025.
