Attend #CFWF17 with a MFWBA conference bursary
From September 28-30 meet up with your CFWF colleagues from across Canada at CFWF 2017 – Quebec: Land of Culture and Agriculture. This year’s national conference is being co-hosted by Canadian Farm Writers Federation and the Association des communicateurs et rédacteurs de l’agroalimentaire (ACRA) in Quebec City.
The conference is always an excellent experience of tours, professional development sessions and great networking with your fellow Canadian farm writers/communicators. And for one MFWBA member, that trip might be (almost completely) free!
The Manitoba Farm Writers and Broadcasters Association invites applications for a CFWF conference bursary available as part of the MFWBA commitment to member professional development. The bursary is intended to cover airfare (reflecting the cost of economy air booked at least one month before travel), registration at the early-bird rate ($150 if registered by July 15), three nights hotel at the conference rate, taxi/transfers and additional meals to a maximum of $1,000.
The MFWBA executive will give priority to people who have not previously attended. From there, the recipient will be chosen by random draw. Recipients must write a report after the conference to be presented at a MFWBA meeting and posted on the MFWBA website.
- You must be a MFWBA member in good standing, whose employer would not otherwise cover your attendance.
- Please state whether you have attended a CFWF conference in the past. Priority will be given to members who haven’t attended, but all applicants will be considered.
- Be prepared to submit a report on your conference attendance upon your return, to be presented at an MFWBA members’ meeting and posted online.
- Submit your name to email@example.com no later than Friday, July 27, 2017. Please put “MFWBA Bursary” in the subject line.
The CFWF 2017 conference web site can be found at http://www.cfwf17.ca/home.html
MFWBA’s IFAJ bursary awarded
Congratulations to Gail Granger, our 2017 IFAJ bursary winner.
This spring, the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) Congress was held in South Africa, April 2-8. As
part of the MFWBA’s commitment to member professional development, we were pleased to offer a bursary to Gail to attend and experience international agriculture.
